I had asked her not to use the headphones because she was going into a room by herself with the door closed and I KNEW that inevitably something would happen. She forgot she had on the headphones and jumped up and ran to the door and broke them. How can I go about getting these replaced? Sigh....

Well, at our house last week, I had reminded my kids (again) that when they finished using their RS headphones they needed to put them back in their drawer and NOT leave them in the floor! They ended up getting stepped on and the ear piece broke off and wires were broken. I called RS and they said that I can buy a replacement pair for $29.99 plus shipping or just purchase a pair elsewhere that are USB with microphone. I purchased a set on clearance at Target for $16 and they have been working great.

So sorry that you have had that problem as well. :~

We've sometimes used the non usb kind. you know the ones with pink and green thingy. and those work too. we have tell the RS program to look in a different place but that wasn't hard.

I guess logitech calls them over the head stereo headset. $15-20 at target

(((hugs))))

I have about 3 sets we use.

Must be the week for RS headsets to break.

My ds just went to Target & got a new one. He says you have to spend about $20 or so to get a good one. He suggests getting one with a "microphone filter" which he says takes out sounds that you don't want, like a fan in the background or something. He says that helps you get a good grade :-)

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement? What exactly do I need to buy? I looked on Amazon, but I couldn't figure out which set I need that will work with the program. Thank you!
Carin

I Found One!

So if anyone else has this happen the Rosetta Stone replacement head set is $29.99 at Christianbook.com, plus shipping.

Thank you for suggesting this program MFW.

Hi Carin,
I remember posting about what my son did back a while:

More recently, he went to just using a microphone, which is another possibility. But your student probably has more siblings running around, so needs more quiet with the headset.

Our kids accidently stepped on our headset (don't ask how it ended up in the floor to begin with...ha ha) and we bought a replacement set on clearance at Target. I call Rosetta Stone and they said that any usb headset will work.
