Posted: Thu May 08, 2008 7:43 pm We are currently finishing up both - 2 weeks left! I didn't want my first grader to miss out on the Bible notebook and reader so I have had him do both. It is a good review for my 2nd grader to hear his brother memorize the same verses he learned last year ("I remem...

singapore math

Thank you ladies. You have been such a big help in my understanding of the levels of Singapore not necessarily corresponding to a certain grade. Now I do not feel terrible if I have to start my son in Book 1A. Could you tell me how many lessons are covered in each lesson and if there are any tests?...

Adventures and 1st

Posted: Tue Jan 29, 2008 8:39 pm I was operating on the same line of thinking as you when I decided to go ahead and do most of the 1st grade with my 6 year old son and let him sit in on Adventures with his 7.5 year old brother. I was initially afraid that the phonics would bore him but didn't want ...

Re: Adventures is great!!!

Posted: Thu Aug 09, 2007 9:30 pm I'm glad to hear of y'alls success with Adventures. My ds (7), has been begging to start school for almost a month, and can't wait until next week, because he will be studying American history. I even have reminded him that there are still other subjects (that he ca...

getting it all?

I feel EXACTLY as you do about the activities - they love them and then want to "build the whole village." Then I'm wondering "where did the day go?" and feeling like I'm missing something - does everyone else's kids get rabbit trailed like mine? I agree with the previous poster who questioned wheth...

Adv and 1st

We also are finishing up our 2nd week of combining the above. As ds who "sat in" on 1st last year is now the one doing it, we are not doing all of 1st - as in omitting the science, using only I Can Do All Things for art. I anticipate putting up the timeline again, as it precedes the Adv timeline, re...

what do I need for Singapore math?

My ds (7 and 5.5) love Singapore's "Primary Mathmatics in Rainbow Rock" computer CD. It has geometry, lots of number bonds, general Singapore style stuff and is like playing a video game for them (yikes).
Hope this helps
