Re: MFW1st/MUS/AAR/Adventures.... help?!

Another thing to think about. Just because you skip 1st grade doesn't mean that you have to skip a year. It means that you can have an extra year in either the primary or secondary levels of school. I've always assign work that matches my child's ability but have never skipped years. For two of my c...

Re: MFW1st/MUS/AAR/Adventures.... help?!

I have used MFW for eight years with four children that all have very different learning styles. Also some have been much more advanced then others. The reason for saying that is I'm a huge advocate for teaching where the child is. I always want to challenge my children but at the same time not rush...

Re: Just learned 4 YO daughter has aspberger's

Well, good news is that you found out early with your daughter which will help tremendously with social development and learning of coping mechanisms. My son, who is now 17, was diagnosed in grade 5 with Aspberger's. So, to say that we were a bit behind with getting services and help he needed is an...

Re: Would MFW be an answer for burntout Mothers?

Lindy, I think MFW is a wonderful curriculum that is a good fit for various learners and families. I have used MFW for the last five years with my four children (even now living in East Africa). Before that, I did use other curriculums that were good, but they were just not what I was hoping homesch...

Re: Apologia Astronomy, RTR... 2 questions

My daughter is using the Astronomy notebook right now during RTR. She will be finished in a few months with it and has enjoyed using it very much. My daughter is 10 and is very independent. So she reads the text and is doing the journal all on her own. So what I did was start off with the Astronomy ...

Re: Seriously considering changing curriculum - q's!

I have been using MFW for 5 years and all families are different with different situations. That is why MFW works so well. I have two in the 2nd year HS, WHL, and two using Rome to Reformation this year. What you will find with MFW is that you can add, take some things away, but overall it is a soli...

Re: general science test

I think that test is one that my boys will always remember. All I can say is that I wouldn't have done that well on it either. It has been the only test they have bombed, and they are in Week 2 of Biology. When they were in general science I didn't really keep grades so we just moved on. Don't worry...
