Vegetable Soup

We read "Vegetable Soup" by Jeanne Modesitt, which is a great story.

Then we made a comparison chart, and compared the vegetables from Vegetable Soup and Peter Rabbit.

We did something similar for Stone Soup- because there are many versions of the same story, but with different ingredients.

Scholastic Video Collection has Click, Clack Moo cows that type....and more fun on the farm. This is 5 stories narrated and lightly animated. These inclu...

Octopus Book recommendation

We just read

World Book Encyclopedia: Under the sea, by Angela Wilkes
It has great fact pages on lots of sea creatures (including turtle which was great to revisit). Then it has a story about an octopus at the end!

Senses Book

We found a great book about the 5 senses at the library. It has a page of information on each sense and about 4 pages of 'experiments'. These are all easily done at home without purchasing anything extra or too much mess. Even my DS 2 who does MFWK with us enjoyed them. First Science Experiments: Su...

Great Sun book

Hi My library had none of the books recommended in MFW or on this message board (except the non-fictions). So I finally managed to find a book, and we loved it. It has no words, and every page is a watercolor of the same scene - with more light as the sun rises. As the sun rises there are different ...
