Re: Poor Handwriting...Perfectionist

Thank you for the replies. Today was actually a better day! She seemed to really have listened to what I said yesterday and tried hard today! (although daddy was working home and sitting close by) lol I will try the tracing sometime though! And I will look into those things you suggested. Also, Juli...

Re: How much time do you spend homeschooling?

I agree, we're between 2-3 hours for all 3 girls. Sometimes longer depending on attitudes ;) .

Re: Singapore - is it me or the curriculum that's the proble

Thank you for your help! I appreciate you taking the time to help this mama out. :-)

I'm going to try altering my teaching approach this week and slowing down and see if that helps them.

If not, I may look into another math program.

Crystal ~ Thank you for your quick response. I think I was kind of expecting it needed to be mental and was totally trying not to use manipulatives last year. This year I am realizing I probably do need them. I am embarrassed to admit I didn't think we were supposed to use them. We do have the textb...

I finally decided MFW really does have what *we* need. We have done K, 1st, and 2nd. This year my 2nd ...

Re: How do you distinguish between end of year burnout and .

Thank you ladies!

schoolmom2 thank you for the book recommendation, I will search the library for it!

As I have spent hours and hours reflecting and searching these past few days, I really think the problem isn't the curriculum...it's me and my fatigue and burnout from my crazy year!

Re: When to know when MFW isnt for you?

This is a question I've been pondering for a while now and I must say how thankful I am for these ladies on this board who have offered so much of their encouragement and time to help! I really needed to read this thread. I have also found there are parts that I just don't enjoy doing. I never did e...

Re: 2nd Grader Hates to Write

Thank you! I will try to adjust it accordingly. Funny thing is, she does better writing if I allow her to do it in her bed at night before going to sleep...I honestly believe it's really hard for her to concentrate with her siblings around during the day.
