Thanks everyone. We are on day 19 & my daughter was happier with the work today. I guess I posted just when I was going to see an improvement. She already knew the vowels and how to indicate short or long vowels, but she enjoyed marking the paper. She knew about silent E, but had never marked it out...

Great idea! My husband travels extensively with his job......he's been gone now since the beginning of May, but should be home by this weekend.....yippee!! I'm just so thankful that he is willing to work so hard so that I can stay home with our children. I'm thankful that he fully supports homeschoo...

I haven't even thought about the number of days yet.......guess that's a newbie for you! We will do field trips, etc... to fill in days if we need to. We take our kids to the senior center once a week to have lunch with the elderly. The girls love it & the seniors have 'adopted' them as grandchildre...

Why not just read the Proverbs like a story, and let him draw his outside activities?
