Re: #23 - Fox

We love the book, 'Dr.DeSoto' it goes along so well with the fox being deceitful and saying nice things all the while thinking something else. Such a cute book and the pictures are darling.

Not a nest but it does relate. We made simple birdcages. All you do is blow up a balloon, cover it with lengths of yarn soaked in a simple paste. Hang it up to dry, and after a day, pop the balloon and you have a wonderful birdcage. We placed a stick inside and glued a colored bird in there. Very me...

I just had the loveliest time reading Katy and the Big Snow to my daughters. I just read it at bedtime tonight and my 5 year old said towards the end, 'Katy is tired but she persevered!' What a blessing when you realize what wonderful lessons they are learning. My best friend just said,'Really, that...

{{{Hugs}}} We moved 4 years ago and it took me until last fall to find a great girlfriend. I feel like a teenager with her. We hardly ever go more than a day without talking. Her two oldest are great friends with my girls and I adore her 2 year old boy with Down's and a newborn girl!!! She is busy! ...

I also recommend the series from Janette Oke. We have 4 of the books and they are so sweet. Liz Curtis Higgs has a couple of children's books as well. Oh, and there is a children's book by Beth Moore that is great.

The dog ate it

We made our sundial the first time and marked on it each hour. Then I threw out my back and my sweet little girls were going outside by themselves to check it and mark it. Well they messed it up some but I was so very proud of them. So, we tried it another day to see how the times matched up and the...

Posted: Mon Mar 31, 2008 6:43 pm I was just (like 10 minutes ago) listening to the conference workshop tape by David called, 'Creating a family of eternal purpose'. On the tape he said that he always asks this question to homeschool parents: What do you wish you would have known before you got marr...

My dd's have both attended our church pre-school. It isn't a curriculum based school. Rather more of a Montessori/ unit themed. There are only 12 children and 2 teachers. It really worked well for our family. Last year both dd's were in at the same time and they basically just played with each other...
