Re: Middle School Science...ugggh!
Yes, thank you ladies! I knew you'd pull through for me. I appreciate it. We have the audio c.d., not the other one. I figure I could summarize and it would be better than having to listen to it word for word either by me or on audio. We also have the journals. I didn't even have the first module te...

Re: Low on patience! Me!
Wow...I could have written this almost everyday the past three weeks!!! My kids have recently turned 13! My problem is I expect them to be more mature now and actually do their best work and not complain anymore! NOPE! BUT, we all get up the next day and do it all over again and realize it IS a new ...

Re: Anyone ever participate in an art co-op?
I've done one with my kids this past spring. We are continuing it for the fall. We swap our homes and we are doing See the Light dvd series. We love it, the kids love it! The first dvd series (there are 9 dvds total with 36 lessons) is about the basics: drawing, introduction to different drawing too...

Re: Using MFW with a child hostile to the Gospel, Bible, etc
Katrina, Wow, I am so sorry to hear about your story! I will be praying for you and your family! We are told over and over in the Christian community that this may happen in high school or college, but at 9?? I guess it's showing that he's thinking a lot about this. I have triplets and one of my son...

Re: Moody Middle Schoolers
Thank you ladies! You are so helpful and encouraging! I'm very familiar with some of the mentioned books, especially Dobson and Tripp. My husband is going to go through the Preparing for Adolescence one with our boys and I'll go over it with my daughter (although, we've already had a lot of talks du...

Re: need additional help with multiplication tables
I have a 6th grade girl who has struggled with the times tables since 3rd grade! Last week I started Times Tales with her and I already see an improvement! I can actually see her brain working these things out by the stories that go along with those harder facts. I'm amazed at this program. I am not...

What do you do to take care of yourself as a homeschool mom?
What do you do to take care of yourself as a home school mom? Well, for sure it is very important to take care of ourselves as we're no good to anyone if we're not healthy or if we're feeling blah! I see you have pretty young children, so that makes it even more challenging! All I can say is you're...

Re: Trouble with Math
My pleasure! That's why I love this message board. It's so great and such a help when you meet people who have the same struggles. I will pray for you, too, as we have a lot in common with our bright and beautiful girls!

Re: Trouble with Math
I could have written your post! We also have a tutor to separate the math issues between my daughter and me. My daughter is the same way as yours...she is just not going to be a math person. I'm just trying to get her to know the basics and find her other God-given talents! It's quite challenging in...

Re: Can I be real? So frustrated
Wow, what a great thread! So been there and done that! My kids are 12 and I keep thinking they really ought to know how to act by now! I do believe they behaved better when they were 2-5! Of course they were much smaller than me back then! Now I look at them almost eye to eye. :~ Anyway, it really w...

Need advice on what to do....we are so behind
I really need some advice on what to do. We had a rough school year beginning at Thanksgiving do to serious health issues that I developed. After missing what totaled to about 7 weeks of school due to dr appointments and medical tests, we are just flat out behind. We have continued to try and get a...

Wow, we are at week 33 for CtG...can't believe it! This was our first year homeschooling 11 year old ("fifth grade") triplets! There were days I really did NOT think we would make it. But we did with God's help and a LOT of grace! I am so glad we plugged away and didn't give up on MFW or homeschooli...

Re: Newbie....suggestions welcome!!!
Hello and welcome! I'm new this year to Homeschooling after not re-enrolling in traditional school. My kids are 11 and in 5th grade. I agree totally with Trish's last statement that "your character will be challenged like you've never imagined!" That is the absolute truth for me!!! And I used to be ...
