Re: Do you "schedule" book basket?

Actually this is our first year to do book basket consistently...but I agree with pp's, it is a blessing in our day! We keep a plastic bin in the living room with all our library books. At the beginning of our year, I had it scheduled at the end of the day....but quickly realized that wasn't going t...

Re: When the curriculum becomes more than a curriculum

Wholeheartedly agree! I've loved every level we've done for so many reasons...but the neatest and most encouraging thing to me is that THIS year DD in 6th is appreciating it so much more. Theres no doubt she's maturing in beautiful ways and seeing things differently as she gets older....my DS in 2nd...

Re: Anyone here work (Fulltime/PT) and homeschool?

Here's a thread with several of us working/homeschooling folks. I see I chimed in on there plenty of times :) http://board.mfwbooks.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2358 Well I'm really surprised at how many moms work and homeschool...I realize I have had it pretty easy! You ladies would smack me if you he...

Re: Anyone here work (Fulltime/PT) and homeschool?

I've actually done after school care in the past when we lived in town. A couple of girls across the street from us needed that and it was a HUGE blessing that year because I was able to purchase all my curriculum that year out of that money...which was a blessing to tell my husband I didn't need X ...

Re: Weekly reviews?

I love those ideas! Thank you! We did our first review today...I've been jotting things down throughout our first week to make up an oral review...the kids did great! My DS is "officially" in the cycle (RTR) this year and he's doing so well...DD and DS even got competitive with the review...great fu...

Re: Using Kingdom Tales in RTR?

Hmmm...another good thought. Just looked in my manual and, is that right, there's no scheduled read alouds after week 23? That would be better timing to bring the KT in...since it's just the beginning of our journey thru RTR...and our first library trip is tomorrow :-)

Re: Any Roman recipes??

Thanks for all the great ideas....NO TOMATOES?! That throws pizza or bruschetta out the window!! Ha! Tomatoes are my favorite...how did they eat without them! But I would like to stick with being as close to the real thing as possible! I love the peacock thing too...definitely will do that and some ...

Re: Trouble with The Childrens Homer in CTG

OP here! Thanks to the last few replies on this post! Now i don't feel like I'm the ONLY one who has had some things like these come up. We also struggled in ECC with the Windows on the World book...but we made it through and I know it was for a purpose. DD has matured so much this year and is much ...

Re: using a planner to combine 3 levels of MFW??

I have been using a planner for several years..the VERY inexpensive planners from R&S. They are only 3.95 so I always pick one up at the fair. I only have two children though and they are going through one level of MFW. So it might not work for several kids on different levels. The planner is simple...
