Struggling with lack of grading

We are using 1850-Modern this year. It is our first year to use MFW; we previously have used Mystery of History and Apologia science. I like MFW and we are enjoying the use of the Usborne science books but I'm feeling like my 5th grader is remembering how fun the projects are but not really understa...

Re: SOTW student sheets

I saw a print copy of the student pages on the Peace Hill press website. But I ended up getting the download so I wouldn't have to wait.... During the summer, I like to get all the pages together for each week and then use my proclick to bind them into a book for each kid. It is a lot of work, but t...

Re: I think we are it horrible to be done now??

Heather, I just read your post, and I have only one thing to say: Wow. Just ... Wow. And that's awesome. And you're incredible. And I admire you a huge ton! The Lord has given you six children, and clearly He has blessed you with the love, dedication, commitment and courage to raise them in His des...

Re: Science alternative for 7th/8th

We are using AIG's books this year. I have a 7th, 4th and 1st grader. We did World of Animals first. it was way too easy for my 7th grader so I added in owl pellet dissection, sent him to a dissection class at our local science museum and required a report for each week on a specific animal. Then we...

Re: 1850-MOD - Weeks 1 & 2 (including studying the States)

A Journey Through Learning has just released a new lapbook on the topic of Chemistry geared for grades 2-7. It was only $10 and I think it might be a nice addition to use during the first 6 weeks of 1850 to Modern. I went ahead and ordered it to use at our house as my kids like lapbooks! Just a sugg...

I know I have asked many questions over the last few weeks; thank you to those who have answered! I finally decided to go ahead and order since the 90 day return policy is in place. (I'm very cautious of spending the money DH works so hard for!) I called in to make sure I was adding in all the resou...

Re: samples of student pages

Thank you Julie - you have been incredibly helpful! I've looked at MFW many times and actually borrowed ECC for a few weeks. I knew ECC would get old fast around here so we didn't do it. I'm pretty well decided on the highschool program when my oldest gets there. I love the grading plan and how it i...

Re: MFW Highschool Questions

Thank you, ladies, for your responses! Very helpful! I have just never been able to figure out how to use MFW effectively with my children before. My oldest is an advanced reader with amazing math skills but despises artsy/crafty things and hates to write. My middle has been slow to read and very ha...
