Re: Knowing that you will be biased toward MFW...

MFW was the first curriculum recommended to me when I first started looking into homeschooling. Being the obsessive-compulsive, must-research-everything-available type that I am, I spent two years trudging through the "shinier" catalogs and shoved the MFW catalog to the back of the file. Fast forwar...

Re: Character Training When Missing K?

I completely agree with Poohbee... all you'd really need is the TM, and I would highly recommend the Ant Hill and Butterfly Garden, and the literature pack is FABULOUS. Re: Q about the math in Kindergarten?

Hi! I'm new here and new to MFW, but I'll share what we're doing in case it helps. We are on Lesson 7 in MFW K, doing two units a week with my 5yo dd. I have a love/hate relationship with the Cuisinaire rods and book. At first I hated it, but now I love it! In fact, I almost quit doing it after the ...

Re: MFW K accelerated pace... am I doing the right thing?

OtterMommy -- I wouldn't really consider us "north," but the high elevation gets us! I grew up here, so I should be used to the weather. Speaking of where I grew up... My choice to homeschool is a personal offense to the district here. Hence, my tendency to want my Ker performing at a very high leve...
