Re: singapore math 6A-help with problems
you guys are just awesome! Thanks to Sarah (and son!) for numbers 22 and 37 Not sure how much work it would be to type out the problems, but there are a few of us who might be up to the challenge but don't have the textbook (for instance, I have the 6a workbook but didn't hang on to the textbook :) ...

We are switching over "fully" this year. After completing ECC and doing our "own" math and language arts, next year it will be CTG, Singapore Math, PLL/ILL, etc. Looking forward to it and glad you posted!

Re: Please help with curriculum confusion!
Hello Christina, I can try to help you a little, although I'm not the most qualified person to do so...But I think MFW is a great choice and would love for you to give it a try so here goes... Next year, your 3rd grader would do Exploring Countries and Cultures (ECC). Your kindergartner would theore...

ECC: Students sheets needed for younger to play geog gam
:-) Does my (almost) 6 year old need a set of student sheets to participate in geography game? Will a rising 4th grader (10 in the fall) use Complete Book of Animals? I think not but it's hard to tell from samples. Hello Katrina! My six year old (1st grader) used the geography game set that came wi...

Not doing the experiments
We just completed our 11th week of ECC (still loving it), except the science experiments. I guess I'm just wondering if someone can give me permission to say "It's OK!" We find reading the books very interesting and if there's a worksheet that goes with it, it's super, but as for the other experime...

What does Bible/Devotions/QT look like for your younger
My boys are 8 and 6. Currently, we read the Bible together in the morning and pray together. I've begun to wonder how to encourage them to have their own personal time with God. I'd love to hear what age you began to encourage your children in this, what age they actually began doing this independe...

Re: Struggling to get it all done and we are just doing MFWK
I have to keep reminding myself when I get overwhelmed that we have an enemy who really doesn't want us teaching our children God's truth, which helps me remember why I teach at home. He also wants us to feel that each of us is the only one struggling, that no one else would understand, and shame u...

dstj, I am praying for you right now. Re: Children, allowance & chores, oh my!
So, may I ask what you do with your children? Do your children get allowances? How do you organize it all? Dear alisoncooks, As you have gotten a ton of responses so far (with the general consensus being - do what works for your family - sort of a theme in homeschooling, huh ;) ?), I just wanted to...

Praying for you, Carin, for strength, encouragement, wisdom, and all you need now. God knows your heart and how those words hurt and how the seeds of doubt start sprouting... Re: OT- student desks?

This is the gorilla family experience with desks for what it is worth: We always had done school at the dining room table, people were distracting others, minds not staying "on task", mama thought, desks! We have very limited sp...

We are brand new to MFW/ECC this year, so this may not be as helpful as some pics/ideas for those that have been plugging away for awhile now, but here are a few pictures of our binders. As suggested by Julie in MN, we just put the sheet that came with our student packets in the see through cover of...

Great Start!
Just wanted to say how wonderful our school year is going after making the switch to MFW and ECC. Definitely led by God to this curriculum: an answer to my prayers and a blessing to my kids. I feel rejuvenated after 5+ years of more traditional based schooling, and the greatest part is letting God h...
