Thanks, Julie! ;)

Re: Saxon Advanced Mathematics Question. . .

A big thank you, Tricia and Julie! ;) I so appreciate your time and helpful information. You've given me much to think on. I do feel very confident in following MFW ' S suggested math sequence. I'd rather he has a rock solid year of geometry, strengthening those skills and getting the instruction on...

Re: Saxon Advanced Mathematics Question. . .

Okay, thanks Julie! ;) I guess I'm mostly just kicking back and forth whether or not to have him take a full year of geometry (with Jacobs) between Alg 1 and 2. I've read about MFW ' S reasoning behind it, but I've also read that many people feel the Saxon sequence is enough without a dedicated year...

Re: I'm not crazy, am I???

Not crazy at all!! ;) If you are....then so am I! :-) We began the school year using another curriculum and ended up changing to MFW by the end of September. One of the best homeschooling decisions ever! :) I second what the ladies have mentioned about really praying about your decision. It can be a...

Re: Singapore or ?, for almost 6th grader & 4th grader?

Oh, wow, Amy!!! ;) Thank you so much for sharing your story about your son (and you!). I really appreciate you taking the time to share that with me. It really does give me hope for my son, and for our situation. He's never been very strong in math, but in the last year, we've been figuring out that...

Re: Singapore or ?, for almost 6th grader & 4th grader?

I've been thinking on this quite a bit, and talking it over with dh, and we've both come to the conclusion that we're going to go with Singapore. :) We will have to back way up, which brings me to my first question. . . . . .When we do the placement test, what if he places way back in 3A or even 2B?...

Re: Why Saxon 8/7 instead of Algebra 1/2?

Okay, thanks Julie! That makes sense! I was just hoping I hadn't really goofed up by getting my son the Alg. 1/2 program. But I think based on where he came from in math, and the placement results, that he's most likely placed appropriately!

Thanks for your helpful thoughts! ;)
