Getting Concerned, Please Help - K & ADV
This upcoming school year we will be doing MFW K and Adventures. I am concerned about the time each of these will take. Not concerned about my time but adding that much time to theirs. I know it is all part of it, but... I can't imagine leaving anything out of K because it all looks so neat and fit...

time spent on homeschooling
Next year will be our first year of homeschooling. My kids will be in first grade and from what I understand, MFW takes about 1.5 to 3 hours a day, correct? I live in Missouri, where the law says that we are supposed to do 1000 hours of homeschool a year. 600 of those hours are supposed to be in co...

Co-op Using Continents/Animals from ECC
Super Excited as Monday was BOXDAY for us! We will be doing ECC & MFW1st for the next school year. I have read the threads about Co-op with ECC. At our Co-op no other families use MFW so I don't want to be sending homework for them to do since they already probably have a full schedule for the rest ...

Re: #19 - Rock
We listened to the song "American Dream" by Casting Crowns and talked about how easy we can start to build castles from sand if we are not watchful. Then we listened to "Slow Fade" also by Casting Crowns, we talked about how we can slowly start to think things are gray & before we know it we've left...

How "hands on/activity based" is MFW?
I'm still looking at MFW and comparing with other curriculums to find the best fit for us. I keep reading how MFW is more "hands on" than the other primary contender for next year's curriculum for us. Can somebody describe what is meant by MFW is more "hands on"? Is it worksheets, crafts, experimen...

Re: Adventures Read A Louds
My ADV & K'ers favorite was Squanto!
We added the Little House on the Prairie series, they really enjoy LHOTP so it's worked well for us.
My K'er still asks when can we read Squanto again

Struggling reader in First; excited about readers
My daughter continues to struggle with reading at times, but has been making some progress. Lately I have been asking her to look at each word and read it silently to herself before trying to say it aloud, and that has helped immensely! So she asked if she could read whole passages to herself befor...

Re: Cardstock foldable timeline ?
We used Banner Paper (not as thick as cardstock) but folds up wonderful
It took 11 sheets completed, I didn't laminate any of it.
We kept it folded up last year then after it was completed we hung it up.

The wb is filled with a great range from easy to more difficult.
I don't think you will be disappointed at all using totally MFW.
