Re: ex-1850 science

thanks for the input. Anyone think it would be a bad idea to do botany/animals in the fall with my 6th and 7th grader and then do General science together the following year (they will be 7th and 8th graders)

Re: MFW for Jr High

Another addition would be Progeny Press book study. I did 2 of these this past year and they are a great resource for reading. I plan to add 1 or 2 of these as well. Thanks!

good question. I will have a 7th grader as well in EX1850. I would love to hear what others have to say as well.

Re: Cuisenaire Rods and Book Question

Just this afternoon I was trying to find out the same thing about the book. Amazon usually has pages of books that can be viewed but not this time. I did find a PDF file that gave me a good peek inside the book. http://www.lwsd.org/school/wilder/PTSA/Enrichment-Activities/MathAdventures/Documents/Fi...

Re: Read alouds

we have done some extra reading aloud from the Christian Heros Then and Now series. Of course MFW does include some in their curriculum and I remember reading Nate Saint and I was sobbing at the end. Could hardly get the words out and my 2 kiddos just stared at me. And I even KNEW the end of the sto...

Re: Cardstock foldable timeline ?

I thought I would chime in as I have just completed putting together my new timeline. first, I have my 2 kids do their own timelines using the cut out pieces from MFW. I made their timelines out of cardstock....I cut a 12x12 piece of card stock in half and taped end to end with packing tape. We did ...

Question about book basket

Good afternoon, I have a question about the "Book Basket". Do you combine the book basket books with other library books are do you keep the book basket books separate? We use a basket for any library books we bring home so we know where they are when it is time to return them, these books are for ...

Re: White Board or Chalk Board or None at all?

Funny...i was just looking at white boards today! Our wall space is somewhat limited but we do have big bay windows in our dining room/school room so I think I am going to try the Chalk Ink. Read about them on Mish Mash Maggie's MFW blog! Sounds like a GREAT invention. You could also buy frame and c...

Re: How to Copy The Body Book?

I don't want to take the book apart because it's such a big book. I, too, wondered about making all these copies from a tightly bound book. I wanted to be fast and efficient SO....I went ahead and tore off front and back covers, ripped each page out and peeled off binding glue. I 3 hole punched the...

Re: Adding Apologia Anatomy to RTR? Thoughts?

eta: I hope I don't sound like I'm trying to tell you what to do -- I'm in more of a quandry than you are. My dd just did Apology Anatomy last year and is getting ready to start RTR. I have the books, but I've been advised to sub out the science. I'm still trying to decide . . . I need to go throug...
