So glad we started with ECC
I struggled a lot last year about which year to start with. We finally decided on ECC and I am so glad we did. We are on Week 13 and have learned so much. I was afraid my 7th grader might be bored because he had a lot of geography (or so I thought) when he was in a private school. He has not been bo...

Re: Planet Earth BBC Series
I have to say that one of the best purchases that I've made this year to augment ECC was the BBC's Planet Earth Series on DVD . It is simply wonderful and you can pick episodes that go right along with the science topics...not only Mountains, Tundra, Seasonal Forests, but also Saving the Species an...

First week of ECC
We have finished our first week of ECC and we had A GREAT WEEK, much better than any of our weeks last year (we were using a different curriculum). We were finished by noon and both my kids were very cooperative. There seemed to be just enough information without being too much. I thought my ds - 7t...

CrystaL, Thanks so much. Your post does give me a general idea. My son is going to be doing Apologia Science at the co-op we attend. They will do the experiments in class and then be assigned reading during the week at home. I will have to wait until it starts to see how long that will take. We don'...

Another company that you might try is Bare Books. Their website is www.barebooks.com. They have books that have half the page blank and half with lines. They also have line guides that fit over paper so that it is easy to draw lines, and they have guides that fit behind the paper so you can write st...

I found a form on donnayoung.org that can be printed. The top half of the page is blank (great for drawing pictures) and the bottom half has lines. The best part is you can decide how wide you want your lines to be. When you go to the website click on Handwriting at the top and then click on paper, ...

Choosing Curriculum - Prayers Answered
Posted Wed Apr 09, 2008 12:06 pm by dascott I want to thank everyone again for all the responses as I flipped back and forth as to which curriculum to use. I prayed last night that God would direct me to the one that would be best for my kids next year and I asked for a clear sign, since I seem to ...

Hi! First I want to thank everyone for their responses so far. I am leaning towards doing school on Friday, but like someone suggested making it a shorter day. We could also start earlier on Friday mornings to complete the day earlier. With the curriculum we used this year, a different unit study, w...
