Too Late?

Hello, I haven't been here in years, but as you can see, I'm back! I used MFW K and Adventures for my son who will be in "6th grade" this coming school year. See, it has been awhile! Anyway, I am looking at using ECC for 6th grade, but that puts us way behind in the cycle, so is it too late to jump ...

Thank you ladies for the ideas. Will really need to do some praying about this.

Re: Choosing Between Adventures and ECC

Thanks ladies! I'll stick with Adventures this year. Then do I skip it completely with my youngest in two years?

Progeny Press Study Guides

Can anyone tell me more about these? My soon to be 7th grader is taking an online [writing] class through them and I do not want to overwhelm him as he does not enjoy writing. Are these primarily a writing tool or a literature study? Thank you! :) We have only done one study and it was a Lit. Study...

Science in Adv. Is it different from 1st?

At the start of our 1st year, I posted that I thought the science was going to be a flop here...but I was encouraged and I tried it anyway.... It wasn't necessarily a flop with the kids so much as a flop with me. The first 1/3 was okay when we were using Things Out Doors, but then we hit the water ...

Re: ECC for High School

Thanks for the link, Julie and the heads up on not working well. Is it the geography that you are looking for? Or the mission focus? Or are you feeling your student just isn't ready for a high school program? I'd also be into brainstorming how to mix-and-match some high school things with some easie...

Re: So happy with reading improvement in First!

This is so exciting. Thank you for sharing! And I can so relate to what you wrote here, I could have written it word for word. I grew up in a moral, but unchurched home... born to parents who said they accepted Christ as adolescents but who did not have a desire at that point in their life to attend...

Re: I Need More Help

If it will encourage you at all... Thank you for the encouragement. I have a son who is 20 and didn't start K until he was 5 yrs and 11 mon. old. I didn't have an issue with him starting at that age because it was when he was suppose to. ;) I am just having a hard time excepting that here my younge...

Re: I Need More Help

Thank you all for your input and replies. I guess I really just need to slow down. I get all tied up in the fact that if my 7 yo was in PS he would be in the second grade because cut off here is Jan. 1st. And there is no way he could be in the second semester of 2nd grade right now. I also get caugh...

Re: Cuisenaire Rods and Book Question

Just this afternoon I was trying to find out the same thing about the book. Amazon usually has pages of books that can be viewed but not this time. I did find a PDF file that gave me a good peek inside the book. http://www.lwsd.org/school/wilder/PTSA/Enrichment-Activities/MathAdventures/Documents/F...
