Re: ECC book basket

Thanks for all the suggestions. I know that part of the issue is my personal preference for the use of the book basket. I am not following MFW suggestions exactly but we are doing what works for us and our family. We have lots of good Christian bios and Missionary bios and I was hoping to find some ...

Re: resources to use with K

We have the book From Abeku to Zapotec and are using it this year too. We are doing K and ECC so it fits in perfectly. Also thanks for the idea of using the dictionary, I haven't thought of that.

Re: ECC Question

We aren't doing everything listed in ECC and I am finding that it is taking us about 3 1/2 hours a day. This includes language arts and math. We currently have a 4th grader, 2nd grader and K with an almost 3 yo. One of the things that is helping is some of the activities from tot school http://lapbo...

Re: Encouragement - Making ECC work in a large family

As a mom to four I know how stressful it can be. I know that I am just now (baby will be 3 in Sept) getting to the point where I think I "might" have a handle on having four children, maybe! :-) The first year I kept thinking "I can't do this, it is so hard, was God sure we were supposed to have fou...

Re: ECC Prep Tips?

I am preparing for ECC in the fall. I also make up folders/notebooks for each country and I have gone through all my supplies/files and pulled out everything that I can incorporate. I am going through our books next week to pull any of them out that we can use with ECC/K. These will all get filed to...

Re: Did you leave another unit study to come to MFW?......

Reasons I prefer MFW 1. If you use their core, language arts, math and science you could have at least 4 IGs and that is if you don't have mroe than one la program. 2. My boys prefer the book basket approach. They like to pick one book and read through it. 3. I like that we can substitute our own LA...

Posted: Sat May 03, 2008 9:53 pm I personally like the TM for MFW because it schedules all subjects one page. Plus I like that it seems to be a well thought out and integrated program. I like the way the Bible is integrated. I also like that MFW doesn't overschedule books. I found that previously w...

You have gotten alot of great ideas. A couple of things I can think of are: To do care packages for the military. Another idea for an assisted living home is to go in and have a devotional time. You could sing some hymns and then read a short devotional. Or call the activity director and find out wh...
