Re: Family devotional

Maybe you are thinking of Keys for Kids. My mom used this devotional when I was a kid, and we still use it now with our kids. It is on many Christian radio stations daily. There are also an online version and a print version available.

Re: What are your plans for 2018-2019?

Ruth, The part of God and the History of Art where it introduces painting says that you can just put them in the freezer for later, and then you can just pull them out to thaw when you are ready. I honestly have not tried thawing yet. We just can’t get around to painting that stag beetle. My kids ar...

Re: What are your plans for 2018-2019?

We will be starting RTR with my 7th and 4th graders and kindergarten with my 5 year old in the fall. We finished our school year in mid-May, and we’re still tying up loose ends from the school year. We still have paint palettes in the freezer for finishing up an art assignment that maybe we’ll get a...

Re: New School Year Hopes and Dreams

My husband and I have always agreed that we wanted a Christian education for our children. We found a great, very small Christian school, that my oldest attended from kindergarten to 4th grade and my second child attended her first two years of school. I was expecting my fourth child their last year...

Subtraction trouble

We just started our school year this week, and a problem from last year is coming up already. My daughter ended last year halfway through Singapore 2B, so we just picked up where we left off. She's starting 3rd grade and is pretty good at math, unless it has to do with subtraction with regrouping. I...

Preschool quandary

I am in the process of figuring out what to do next year because I'd like to order soon. We are getting through ECC with my 5th and 2nd graders, and we plan to do CTG next year. However, I'm not sure what to do for my almost four year old. Last winter, a little bit before Voyage of Discovery was rel...

Re: Check-In Time

I am finishing week 5 of ECC with my 5th grader and 2nd grader. Things are going pretty well. This morning the kids were outside practicing their cartwheels while waiting for ice cubes to melt for a science experiment. It made me so happy that we are home schooling this year. They seem to have a nat...

Re: Spelling by sound and structure. "So easy"

After talking to her about it, it turns out she likes having easy spelling words that she already knows. I guess if she's happy with it, I won't worry about it. Thank you for all the feedback. We are enjoying our year so far and so glad we found MFW!

Re: Spelling by sound and structure. "So easy"

Thank you both for your input. I think I will wait until my son has a good start in Spelling Power and I figure out how it works, and I'll continue on in her current spelling for now.

June Check In - Transition going well!

We are new to home schooling this year. My kids just finished 1st and 4th grade in a small Christian school. I started last week doing Singapore 3b with my son, hoping to get through it before fall, when we start ECC. So far, he is excited to do it everyday and wants to do two or three lessons a day...
