Re: Kindergarten to hard for my 6 year old

But we only learned that one 2 weeks ago. He didn't really know any of his letter at the beginning of t...

Re: Anyone here work (Fulltime/PT) and homeschool?

I work part time at church as the Childrens Ministry Dirictor. I job share with another mom so I work 12 hours and she works 12 hours. I can do about 50% of my work at home, so I do that in the evenings when my dh is home. I work Thursday afternoons, Sundays and any other random meetings as needed. ...

Re: is MFW for our family?

I made a poster of "I am, I can, I ought and I will" using one of my camping pics as a back ground. Here is a link to it: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v370/reddcin/iamicanioughtiwill.jpg our homeschooling revolves around those 4 saying Oh, that is so beautiful! you are all welcome to print it o...

Re: is MFW for our family?

I was a teacher for 10 years before having kids and now that I have my own kids, I love homeschooling them. My favorite philosophy of education is Charlotte Mason (I've read all her books). yet I also like the convince of classical education. I think MFW blends the best of both worlds. Every day we ...

Re: Snow project...

I liked when they were "blowing frozen bubbles" in the cold. The bubbles froze, and then they rolled and sometimes shattered just like Christmas ornaments. We've done that!! ITs so fun, kids love it. With all the snow we have we also made snow cones, icebergs and I bought snow into the house to use...

if you are into nature journaling

Charlotte Mason really believed in nature journaling. So we do this at my home a lot. While searching the net I found these great free nature journal work sheets that are very helpful.

Re: History & Bible Notebook(s)

So does the notebook idea in MFW come from Charlotte Mason? Did Charolette Mason use it a lot in her education of students? Yes but she called it journaling. CM believe heavily in journaling especially of nature. The Bible note books are exactly how cm would describe a nature journal for younger ki...

Re: Doing Running Start/College classes for last 2 years of

My husband and I started dating in 10th grade and planed to get married right out of school. The best thing we did was taking PESO (college during high school). This gave us a year free of college that we wouldn't have to pay for. It was a huge opportunity for us, one I pray my kids take advantage o...
