Re: Mama of a 3 y.o. little girl feeling GUILTY but lost!!
I don't have any advice/insight, but just wanted to encourage you and remind you that God has given her the perfect family for HER! As long as you keep praying and trusting the Lord for wisdom and guidance, you're all going to be fine :) Don't feel guilty. If you think there is a practical change th...

Re: Is a 4-day week possible with CtG
Hmmmm..... wheels churning...... just rearrange the days, and leave some stuff out. Just want to make sure we keep on track with everything else. And I think 4 days for everything else will work. If push comes to shove I can make other appointments before or after co-op so if Monday is a wash, it's ...

Re: Can I be real? So frustrated
It's so wonderful to see all of these stories to know that we are all so normal ! We, too, have had a rough week, mostly with my trying to cope with getting a diagnosis for my youngest, and resenting how life right now is messing up everything for the other two, and my ideals for schooling for them ...

Re: Drawing with Children Markers??
Agreeing with what everyone else said
in case you want to take it into consideration, the reason for the better quality (read: more expensive) markers is that when they are used to color in an area, they don't bleed onto themselves and blend better.
That's all

Re: General ideas for Creation to the Greeks
Just looking through the feasts for the next year and I discovered that if you use Google Calendars (through Gmail) you can add a "Jewish Calendar" and it has all the current dates for the feasts for the next year.

CTG Scheduling
It looks like we are going to be starting CtG next month! I'm so excited, though a bit nervous. A part of me is downright :( at finishing ECC - we are enjoying it so much. Anyway. I have really struggled this year with getting a schedule into place that will work for us, and I feel like I have fina...

Timeline
Greetings! My family is new to My Father's World and we are starting the program with "Creation to the Greeks." I am a bit confused on exactly how to set up the timeline and was wondering if someone may have shared a picture of their timeline with the group. Sometimes it helps me to "see" things. T...

Re: Adventures Tag-Along What to Order? And other stuff
I totally agree with what the ladies here have said :) My second was actually 1st grade, but it's the same principle. I also found some of the inexpensive "State" coloring books, and let the 1st grader color while we read. There was no way he was going to just sit while we read. So he colored. Other...

Re: Child's History instead of Streams for littles using Cto
It is meant to be used a resource for parents to learn more about this time period and then as you are reading the other books interject some of the information that stood out to you as you were reading it and that you find appropriate. OH!!! Well that explains a lot then! LOL! Thanks, Lucy - appre...

Re: 1st Grade seems too easy, should I skip some?
I had the same "problem" with my dd who has always read way above grade level. We used the time to add in things that interested her/us, especially lots of science. And field trips...lots of exploring. I was really concerned at the time about it not being hard enough (school is supposed to be hard, ...

Thanks for those tips, ladies! Maybe we should just give it a bash :) LOL @ Tammie. Umm, no thanks ;) Not more work. I've realized how important the visual is. I put him onto a computer-based reading program and he's suddenly reading! Thing is, I'm doing CtG with my 10 yr old (advanced) dd too. So, ...

Amy, I was going to say what Trish said with the dyslexia and auditory processing because that is what I was thinking, but I'm not qualified at all and would definitely recommend getting him evaluated. Another thing that comes to mind is apraxia but I'm not sure what it's called when it comes to rea...

Please help me know what I am dealing with!
My 7 year old (July birthday) has been doing MFW 1st since last year. I decided to spread it out over 2 years because of his slowness in learning. (So this is his 2nd grade year but we are doing the second half of MFW 1st). I made this decision about the middle of the year last year. He did fine wi...

I've been thinking about this since I posted my question (haven't you noticed....ask now, think later!? LOL) and I would agree with both of you. I was thinking along the same lines, as well as the adjustments of having a new family to fit into etc. I think you're right. Start at 1st, and move forwar...

Yay! That's what I was thinking <3 Love it when I'm on the same page as everyone else. Doesn't happen too often ;) Usually it takes a bit to catch me up with everyone else. I feel like it's the night before Christmas. No matter how often I check my UPS tracking, the box is still sitting there. Nope,...

Re: 9yo boy struggling with math...help!
Terri, I wouldn't say that your son being a leftie is contributing to the "issues" as such. My son is a leftie and a math wizz. I think, though, that lefties are generally more right-brained and process things more creatively, and sometimes that contributes to their taking a little longer to grasp m...

I was about ready to send my kids to public school ;) After I spent the weekend mulling over it and familiarizing ...
