Adventures for an Advanced 1st grader?

Has anyone used Adventures with an advanced 1st grader? She places squarely into Adventures currently as a 5 year old. She is reading, spelling, and writing well and gets irritated with a year's worth of review in a level that she has mastered academically (we are going through MFW K right now). We...

Re: No "reading" as a subject....will we miss anything?

We have used CLE Reading alongside Sonlight and now MFW for years--my boys will do Grade 5 and Grade 7 next year. One of my boys is a big reader, one is not into fiction. I have had a struggle getting him to read fiction from the book basket, so I do like for him to be reading and enjoying the CLE R...

My 1st grader was way beyond MFW-1 but my K-er was too young to do the next core in SL, which we were using then. So ...

Re: 1st grader doing Adventures?

We did Adv when my boys were 1st (an older 1st grader, fall bday and advanced) and K. My 1st grader was way beyond MFW-1 but my K-er was too young to do the next core in SL, which we were using then. So I went for Adventures--- The K-er had a GREAT time--he narrated to me for the notebooking pages, ...

Re: Before starting Adventures?

Good thoughts--I'll just go "as written" and get in our groove and only peel back the duct tape from my eyes as needed :)

thanks
