We were able to inspect it and take turn holding it. So cool. Today we wer...

My oldest loved making the Blueberry Cobbler and so enjoyed taking it to friend's house to share after dinner. We just finished Canada and are looking forward to exploring Brazil next week. Thanks to everyone for the super wonderful links and book suggestions for Brazil :)

K badges

Posted: Thu Oct 04, 2007 12:10 am My son did NOT want to wear a badge, so we glued it to a board (like our 2nd grader's Adventures memory verse board) and it's displayed in the basement (our home school area). I wrote the date, S,s Sun and Jesus is the light of the world on the badge in small lette...

I think for us the BIGGEST help is doing Adventures (most of it) while my 1 year old is napping, which is after lunch. The other two are either with us in the basement or play in the back yard. I have a list of quiet toys/activities that they can play with while I work with my oldest. Some days go w...

Great ideas! When my little one gets older I want to have a book basket for him.

Like someone else shared here, for this year, we do school when my baby is napping (after lunch).

Hi Debbie! Glad you are enjoying MFW...we just love it too!

I too have used a lined wipe off board. My daughter did NOT want to pencil write it twice! So either she or I would write it down as she summerized it. I asked leading questions to help her get the "main idea" and whipped out our lined white board (teacher supply store). She would write a sentence on the white board, I'd correct mistakes and then she copied it. Now that we're on to about 3 sentence summaries, we talk it over together, I write it on...

Games to Practice Reading Words

Hi all! My daughter is starting day 18 of MFW1 today and God gave me a good idea I'd like to share. I have 3 other kids younger than my almost 6yr old...and that sounded a bit time consumin...
