Posted: Sat Jul 22, 2006 7:14 am Thank you for your suggestions and advice. I really appreciate it. I do have the TM and did read the article about fitting it all in. I have tried numerous schedules over the past few years. My question arose after reading over Spelling Power, seeing that it should ...

Fitting It All In - With 5 children

Posted: Fri Jul 21, 2006 9:45 am Hi! I am a mother of 5 dds, ages 10,8,6,4and 1. I have been homeschooling from the beginning. We were "doing school" all day (8-4pm) nearly everyday. As I am maturing in Christ, I began to see that I was not focused on what the Lord wanted me to do with His children...

Posted: Thu Nov 30, 2006 10:02 am I agree with what the others have said. I have switched from using a strong classical approach curriculum. While these are great, they can be very time consuming. For those students that do not generally love math, it becomes discouraging. The english was great, to...

Posted: Thu Dec 14, 2006 8:45 am Hi, there. I just wanted to share a resource that has been a help to me. Usually, while I am reading aloud to the girls, whether it is "read-aloud time" or reading "Story of the World", etc.,they color their worksheets from the appendix, or the copies from Augustus ...

Posted: Wed Dec 06, 2006 1:25 pm Just wanted to let anyone know, who is interested, that Kmart has indoor herb gardens. The price is $15.99, I think by Chia. The herbs are curled parsley, dill, chives, basil, cilantro, and marjoram. It comes with 4-3in terra cotta pots and saucers and liners, growi...

Schedule - Can't seem to fit it all in! Sick days,

I went back and read through the Hazells article again entitled "Help! How Do I Fit Everything In?" I would love to move through things as quickly as they do, but I don't see how that happens in reality. For instance, math is scheduled for 40 mins. in the morning. But, if you have three children an...

Thanks for your help.

I will be ordering the next sets for the girls. Just wanted to see what others have done and are doing. I wasn't expecting them to get through it so quickly, but the colorful workbooks are more fun to do, i guess.

Thanks, again,
Carol

Roman Feast

My girls had a great time planning, preparing and serving the Roman Feast. The ideas in the TM are very helpful. We made each of my 5 a stolla out of old sheets. We were a little shy about sharing with another family, but maybe another time. The girls decided to pretend Daddy was Caesar Augustus (I ...

Comparing curriculums - Encouragement for making a change!

Hi and Welcome! I have 5 children ages 1 thru 10 and this is my first year with MFW, so I don't have a lot of experience, but I just wanted to encourage you. The Teacher's Manual has been such a blessing to me this year, and frankly, that was a big attraction for me. Like you, I enjoyed piecing toge...
