Oh my....pretty soon we will be saying....what version are we NOT using :) We started out with Russian because it was what we were interested in and we thought we might become missionaries to Russia. We hardly used it and we've moved on. I wanted my children to use Spanish....but my oldest begged fo...

We just finished week 1 with dd almost 14! YEAH!! Well.....actually she still has to finish that paper. She showed me her "finished" paper yesterday. I said, "I don't think so." She had done everything independently. Normally she is an excellent writer. But she has never written this kind of paper. ...

How much time do you spend doing Singapore each day? Mom time and student time.... Posted: Sun Apr 06, 2008 6:18 pm I just switched 2 students to Singapore about 2 months ago. It is NOT time intensive. A lesson only takes about 10-15 minutes of my time. We have been spending a little extra time on ...

You might want to check with Knight's Book Nook, too. Though I don't know if they have a website or if you just call them. They are located in GA, but travel to a lot of homeschool conferences. They sell all the kits, microscopes and other science related stuff. Like MFW ...they are a homeschool fam...

Posted: Thu Feb 21, 2008 9:14 pm My ds age 6 is left handed....the only one of seven so far. I was really worried about teaching him too. Amazingly it just happened. Maybe it was just him, but he picked it up just by me showing him with my right hand what he needed to do with his left. Then again.....

Posted: Thu Feb 21, 2008 1:39 pm I used it too. I loved the concept....teaching all the children the same subject (hmmm....sounds like MFW...). BUT we were very overwhelmed with it too. The writing part was very hard and confusing to us, so we did not use it. We will start MFW in the fall. Posted W...

Singapore math is fun!

Posted: Thu Feb 07, 2008 11:45 am We just started 1B today with my advanced 6yr old. It was very easy, but pleasant...really fun review. He did 4 lessons! I am use to just handing him his math in our previous program....so it does take a few more minutes of my time...but it was enjoyable and it did...

Credits - General questions, terminology, states

Credits - How are they awarded? vs. Accreditation My son will be beginning AHL this fall. How do they determine whether the student has completed the program and may receive the credits? Also, how would a student receive credit for his non-MFW studies, such as Saxon Algebra 1 and Apologia Science? ...

Actually....

We watched the DIVE demo cd tonight. My 5th grader who struggles said "hey I think I like this!" My 10th grader said, "at least the guy sounds like he's actually teaching...not just reading from a script!" You see, we like ACE's mission statement....we like how independent the materials are (except ...
