DELUXE - Are items scheduled in the TM?

My first question is: Does the teacher's guide include all of the books and extras that are listed in the deluxe package? Or do you do these all on your own without the teacher's guide? The deluxe items are scheduled. THe patriotic music cd is schedule twice a week throughout the year, and the nutc...

I do the history reading first while the kids are eating their breakfast. They are a captive audiance and also my baby is quiet too. I break up the reading if they aren't paying attention. Then we do more reading at Break time while the eat a snack. They think the reading is a treat because they don...

We used the DK Animal Encyclopedia and also checked 2-3 books about the animal out from the library. We usually go every 3 weeks and just get what we need for 3 weeks. We didn't always find the books listed in the teacher's guide but found books that worked fine.

We are doing the test study test method with my almost 8 year old daughter. She is a pretty bad speller but I have seen remarkable improvement just in the last month since we started. She tested in level A so we just started at the beginning. I usually test her until she gets 3 words wrong. She does...

I would use a lot of the games at the end of the book to learn the words well. That will hopefully give your younger more time to learn the words. I agree that if they aren't ready hold off or go very slow because pushing to much to fast can lead to dislike of reading and frustration for both of you...

--THe most important thing is my kids love it and the remember what they learn. They look forward to it every day. --It has just the right amount of work to learn but not burn them out. We can finish school by 1 pm and enjoy doing all the other things we want to do. --My kids love learning the bible...

Don't feel guilty if the oldest complains of being bored or hating school. Kids complain about regular school too. It doesn't mean they want to really change schools just that they would rather be doing something else like playing. I have found my kids use the bored excuse or it's too hard when they...

Leap frog letter factory videos. Each letter has a room and says it's sound. It is very visual and my daughter had it all memorized after watching it 3 times. Before she would get them mixed up but she has them down pat and so do the rest of us since she always sings them all in the car.

we are doing 2nd grade spelling and my daughter does fine as long as it is phonetically spelled. She has started taking out her phonics sheet from first grade that shows all the differant letter combinations that make the same sound so now she tries to attempt to figure it out. I still haven't figur...

We are loving first grade phonics. My daughter who is 7 and has a difficult time learning to read is finally getting it. It seems to help that she underlines words and so can figure out short and long sounds. She likes the short lessons. I copy down all the words on flashcards in color greene for co...

My 7 year old loves to draw and has taken off with the book. I think even I could benifit from the book. My 5 year old is not interested so I am not pushing her to use it. Drawing is one of those things where everyone is as different levels and the goal in the book would be to learn technique and im...

I think this is a common problem with some 5 year olds. My dd who is 51/2 is still this way. Last year we just did kindergarten as she wanted too. This year we are planning to do MFW k more formally. I also had issues when my older daughter was 5. All I can say is lots of breaks, as a reward for fin...
