I do spend 30 minutes with my little one doing various fun learning activities or snuggling on the couch for reading time. During this time, one of my ds would have 30 minutes on the computer doing an educational game. The other has his independent work (like math, copying memory verses, science wri...

Posted: Thu May 29, 2008 7:00 pm I did ECC and MFWK this year. I did not do all the projects in both. While my oldest did some independent work, I taught my ds5 MFWK (math, LA section). It usually took about 30 minutes (sometimes longer with the games since we had to play bingo at least 3x). Then l...

I had my ds (who was in 2nd then) spell the words orally one list a day for the review lessons. Then any words he missed he could study for Friday's test. This way he could focus on just a couple of words he missed. That test would be written. HTH, Debbie in NC Mom to ds (9, 6.5, 4) and 1 dd (1.5)

I have a 4th and 1st in CTG this year. We are only on week 6, but Streams of Civ. is working. I do read it while they are eating their snack or working on their art lesson or coloring page.

Re: Please use simple words in explaining!

Posted: Sat Mar 08, 2008 7:23 am We do a couple of things different than Kelly. My ds is in 3rd grade and is slightly behind in spelling. My ds labels his paper (M, T, W, Th, or F) along with the date. Each Monday I retest on all the words he missed the previous week. I set the timer for 5 minutes....

Language Arts - Still working on reading

Hello! My ds has completed both MFW K and 1st grade work over the last two years and will be in 2nd grade this coming school year. Some things have been more challenging than others, especially fine motor skills and reading. I've been planning on doing Adventures next year, but I need some advice. ...

I did trailblazer stories on some of the missionary stories. I read aloud Cameron Townsend and my ds8 enjoyed it, but ds5 and ds3 who were listening in did not enjoy this book. So I decided to find other books. They all enjoyed the trailblazer stories. I read all the missionary stories on my own. I ...
