Wow...what great responses! Rachel, that's exactly what I do! I do about 20-30 minutes with my 4 year old, and then I turn my attention to the twins for their whole schoolwork time. I think I will start breaking it up and doing a few things with her, teach and get the twins started on something, go ...

Attention span for almost 6yr old Kindergartener

This is my first year homeschooling so maybe some of my thoughts come from growing up with the public school mindset, but I am getting frustrated with my dd. We just started MFW K and she is enthusiastic but only wants to do crafts. Maybe this is from her having attended preschool for 2 years, I do...

David Hazell in person...

Posted: Sat Apr 12, 2008 10:45 pm I just had to jump on to say that hearing David Hazell in person was absolutely fabulous! With this being convention season, if you have the chance to hear him speak, take it. He has such a heart for this curriculum and for the Lord, and I left the seminar today fe...

One thing I was planning was to give my twins 100 pennies and take them to the dollar store to let them buy something. I thought it would be a good segway into money which comes next in the K program. : )

Some mornings all I get is glassy eyes and yawns.

Yet, at the oddest moments they'll remind me of some lesson I taught them from the Bible and it's very encouraging! I'm glad the Lord used your daughter to reassure you and I hope your week got better.

Almost every morning I'm greeted with "Good morning mom, is it time for school?" This at 6:30 am!!! I fee...

They love it and have not been bored once. I usually just go quickly through the phonics part and use it as revi...

K badges

Posted: Wed Oct 03, 2007 8:48 am I'm making an extra badge each lesson (because ours are demolished within a few days) and posting them on a bulletin board on the twins bedroom door. Eventually they'll be taken down and scrapbooked/put in a photo album with pics. of the girls doing kindergarten. I'...

Posted: Fri Jan 25, 2008 5:21 pm Well I'm kind of new to My Father's World. I'm using the Kinder. curriculum and LOVE IT. It's fabulous and easy to use, and integrates the Bible in a natural, smooth way. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a negative review anywhere! Everyone I know who uses it e...

Great Resource for Yellow Lesson

Hello... I just received my new Lauri toys catalog and they have a new item that would be perfect for the Yellow (color) Lesson. It's a peel and stick mosaic picture. They come in 4-packs and instead of coloring by numbers, you peel and stick little foam squares by number to create a mosaic picture ...

Hi there, I neither have children as old as 8 or boys (I have 4 girls aged 5 and under), but I've heard wonderful things about books by Holling C. Holling...some titles are Pagoo and Seabird. Sounds like they might work? Hope it helps!

Advanced preK-thank you

Thanks all! I wasn't expecting such wonderful ideas and responses. I'll try some of those activities. We have the Lauri preK package but I had forgotten about the booklet with activities! I need to pull that out and use it. (One of my twins is special needs and requires leg braces, so hikes and zoos...
