Where Is Your Oxygen Mask? -- Minutes with Marie

Unread post by Marie »

As parents, we often feel pulled in every direction. So many people “need” us! All the time! So I’d like to offer a bit of advice you’ve probably heard over and over -- Put your own oxygen mask on first before helping those around you.

There’s a lot of truth in that simple statement. Why? Only by receiving oxygen – a life-giving necessity – are we able to help others. It’s not selfish to find time to sit in peace with God and listen to Him as you read His Word and share your heart with Him. It’s your life! You need Him, just like you need oxygen.

Remember, it’s not a check box; it’s not a daily Bible assignment. It’s a relationship. Spending time with the One who loves you most.

Reminds me of a song: “This Is the Air I Breathe.”

Thankful for oxygen,
Marie

Thanks, Marie. Wonderful thoughts as always.

Here's the song, for those who (like me) don't remember hearing the song before:
