But when I got in my car and drove out of the valley, I saw things more clearly. The fog was only in the valley. The sun was shining, beautiful and powerful. I just couldn’t see it with my earthly eyes.
It is time for us to stop looking at things as mere mortals. We are eternal beings. We are children of the Light, children of God. We can look out our windows and see the fog. Or we can lift up our “eyes” to the heavens and “see” God, see people and events from His perspective. As we gaze on Him, we are transformed and reflect His light to a dark, needy world. God is at work in our world, and we each have a part to play.
Spend time with Him. Soak in His warm rays. Let Him transform you. Ask Him what He wants you to see with His eyes. Ask Him where and how He wants you to reflect His glory. It’s time! Others need our light – the reflected light of our Precious Redeemer.
- Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the LORD rises upon you
and his glory appears over you. Isaiah 60:1-2
