We did Sign of the Beaver that year.

There are vocab words, comprehension questions and some discussion questions from what I remember. We enjoyed it.

Box day! Icebox Pie Day!! So fun!

Unread post by asheslawson » Sat Mar 29, 2014 12:37 am

We just received our shipment today of 1850 to Modern Times and all our other items! My son started a tradition on our 1st box day to have icebox pie on box day - so we got it ready this morning - and YAY - UPS was not delayed. We had such a wonderful time looking through our new books - I had fun checking out some items I hadn't looked closely at. My kids loved seeing the table of elements in the front of the physical science book.

One of the greatest moments was when the 12 year old, that I homeschool with mine, picked up Eagle of the Ninth and browsed it and said, "now this, I want to read". This was music to my ears - and his moms - since he's told us all year how much he hates to read! Just thought I'd share - box day is always a celebrated day - and it is one of my favorite days around this time of year!
