I just had my kids make one for the Hykso's war too. They enjoyed it. I had them label them and then covered them in contact paper like our other timeline pieces. Any way you chose to make it is fine.
Happy CTGing!

When we did CTG we made "Bible costumes" which were simply solid color, no pocket, XL mens crew neck tee shirts. We sewed some sort of fringy trim (like you'd see on some furniture) on the hems of these shirts. We used additional ropey trim to tie around our waists. Very simple costumes but they actually look nice (still in the dress up box). We found the trim in the clearance shelf of the Walmart fabric department, so it didn't cost a lot.
We made the black hair wig using yarn. It's silly looking.

This is the link to my blog post about Week 10: http://rachelsreflections-rachelt.blogs ... ek-10.html
There is a photo of our science experiment where we "made rain" in the kitchen, over the stove. We also made some cool clay pots and they are pictured as well.
Here is the link to the post about Week 11: http://rachelsreflections-rachelt.blogs ... -2010.html
The dried pots are shown with more detailed photos. There is also a photo of some obelisks that my daughter drew - in honor of our dogs!

Re: CTG - Weeks 10 & 11
Since we are done with our readings out of Genesis and are moving into Exodus, I wanted to do a review of all the things that have happened in the book of Genesis. So I had my kids make an acrostic and we used the letters to briefly recap the subjects we covered. I'll type out what we came up with for Genesis.
G - God created the heavens and the earth
E - Eve was deceived
N - Noah built the ark
E - Everyone built the tower
S - Sarah and Abraham left Ur
I - Isaac and Rebekah had twins
S - Severe famine in the land
We enjoyed talking through all that we have learned and finding ways to summarize it.
