Looking for a penpal

Unread post by lissamae » Sat Jan 28, 2017 10:56 pm

As we are practicing handwriting we have started to learn about writing letters. I would love to have a penpal for my 10 year old son.
If you are interested I can send you more information about us. Just let me know.

so far no one has shown interest in a pan pal option. So if anyone knows of a safe organization to direct me to for pen pal match ups I would be grateful. In the meantime he has been writing letters to his Grandma which is fun but they seee each other every weekend and it is hard to think of things to write about.

HSLDA has a great article on finding penpals here:

Hope you find something there that would work!

Another idea would be if your family decided to support a child through something like World Vision or Compassion (and there are other sponsorship organizations), and then write to the child. Letters maybe wouldn't come as often as from a more local penpal, but it is so neat to see and read firsthand about how children live in other parts of the world. We write to and receive letters and pictures from a little girl in Zambia. :-)

I just read this. My son is 8, so I don't know if that is too young for your son. Let me know.

thanks for the ideas, Just today I received a message that some have responded to my post. So I apologize for the delay. I have contacted one mom about a pen pal. What I can't figure out is how to respond to individual messages on here. I am so not computer savvy.

At the top right, look for where it says "Private messages" and click on that.
