What's New in 2018?

Unread post by Christy - Staff » Fri Dec 29, 2017 12:13 pm

We are excited to announce Writing Skills for Today for Grades 4-6!

Writing Skills for Today is our new companion product to Language Lessons for Today. Writing Skills for Today is based on Writing Strands by David Marks; we’ve been busy with edits and revisions to make the series even easier for you to use. We’ve also separated each year-long book into 68 easy-to-teach lessons (2 per week). Our 2018 Teacher Manuals include lesson numbers on the weekly grid so it’s easy to stay on target. You can give your 4th-6th grader a strong foundation in English and composition – with the combination of Language Lessons for Today (M, T, W) and Writing Skills for Today (TH, F).

We’re excited to continue providing these great benefits in 2018!

Very Excited about the new WSFT! Do you know if they will make a change for 7/8th grade any time soon?

Also, what is the new recommendation for foreign language since I see RS isn't offered anymore?

There are no current plans for changing the recommendations for 7th/8th grade Language Arts.

We still recommend Rosetta Stone® for foreign language because of its excellent methodology and engaging, interactive format. We no longer carry the actual product because Rosetta Stone changed the delivery method for their program. It is no longer available on CDs.

We made some changes to our Foreign Language Daily Lesson Plan earlier in 2017. These changes allow families to use our current Foreign Language Enrichment Guide with any foreign language program. Our guide includes cultural activities and other helps that allow a high school student to gain one high school credit in foreign language. The guide can be repeated in future years to gain additional high school credits. The suggestions contained in the guide can also be used with younger students to enrich their learning experience, adding cultural activities, audio review, and other language related activities.

Hi, Christy,

Where are the new foreign-language lesson plans?

Also, are the old RS lesson plans still available?

Thanks,
Rhonda (mom2h)
